There’s something about the ease of a one pot meal that feels like a hug after a long day. I remember one evening, the sky already dimming outside my kitchen window, when I tossed this One Pot Pasta mit Feta und Tomaten together. The kitchen smelled like sun-ripened tomatoes and garlic, mingling with the warm, salty tang of feta as it melted gently into the sauce. I was halfway through chopping the onions when my phone buzzed, pulling me away for a moment — I’m pretty sure I dropped a piece of garlic somewhere, but the aromas kept me anchored. It’s the kind of dinner that doesn’t demand perfection, just a comforting presence on the table.
It’s a dish that doesn’t overcomplicate; instead, it lets the ingredients speak for themselves. The tomatoes burst with sweetness, softened just enough, while the feta adds a creamy, slightly crumbly contrast that feels indulgent without being heavy. It’s a balance I usually look for on busy nights when I want to feel cozy but not weighed down.
Why You’ll Love It
- Everything cooks in one pot, so cleanup is minimal and you can focus on relaxing instead of washing dishes.
- The combination of fresh tomatoes and creamy feta delivers a rich yet fresh flavor — but it’s not a fancy, complicated recipe, which is kind of the point.
- Ready in about 25 minutes, it fits perfectly into busy weeknights or whenever you’re craving something quick and satisfying.
- It’s easy to tweak if you’re feeling experimental — though I haven’t tested all possible variations, the basic version stands strong on its own.
If you’re worried about cooking pasta straight in broth, don’t be. It’s surprisingly forgiving, and the pasta absorbs all those flavors beautifully without getting mushy.

Kitchen Notes: You don’t need anything fancy here — just a large pot that can comfortably hold the pasta and liquid. I usually serve this with a crisp green salad or some crusty bread to soak up the juices. If you want to switch things up, swapping in different herbs like thyme or adding a pinch of chili flakes can add a nice touch. Sometimes I toss in a handful of olives or capers for a briny twist, but it’s not necessary. I haven’t tried it with other cheeses besides feta, though ricotta might be interesting if you like a creamier texture.
FAQ
Can I use a different type of pasta? You can, but cooking times will vary, so keep an eye on it. Thin pastas work best here.
What’s the best way to store leftovers? Keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. When reheating, add a splash of water or broth to loosen the sauce.
Is this dish spicy? Not by default, but you can easily add chili flakes or pepper if you like a little kick.
