Ground Beef Crockpot Chili

Description

1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef and cook until the onion is softened, about 3 minutes.
Transfer the cooked beef, onion, and garlic mixture to the crockpot.
Add the diced tomatoes (with juice), kidney beans, black beans, tomato sauce, and beef broth to the crockpot.
Stir in chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, stirring occasionally if possible.
After cooking, taste and adjust seasoning if needed before serving.
