Description
A comforting and easy-to-make cheesy chicken tater tot casserole cooked in a crock pot. Tender chicken, creamy sauce, and crispy tater tots make this a family favorite.
Ingredients
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 bag (32 ounces) frozen tater tots
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cooked chicken, condensed cream of chicken soup, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.
Spray the inside of a 6-quart crock pot with non-stick cooking spray.
Spread the chicken mixture evenly in the bottom of the crock pot.
Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the chicken mixture.
Cover and cook on low for 4 to 4 1/2 hours, or until the tater tots are cooked through and the casserole is bubbly.
About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the tater tots.
Cover and continue cooking for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
