Description
A classic Italian-American dish featuring crispy breaded chicken breasts topped with marinara sauce and melted cheese.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups marinara sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil for frying
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place flour in a shallow dish. In another dish, beat eggs. In a third dish, combine breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Place fried chicken in a baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece.
Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and chicken is cooked through.
