A quick and comforting beef and broccoli stir-fry with tender beef, crisp broccoli, and a savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
4 cups broccoli florets
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
1/2 cup beef broth or water
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes, drain and set aside.
Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat, add garlic and cook until fragrant.
Add beef slices, season with salt and pepper, and stir-fry until browned but still tender.
Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth in a bowl.
Return broccoli to the pan, pour the sauce mixture over, and stir well.
Add cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce, cooking for another 2 minutes.
Serve immediately with rice or noodles.
