Description

A delicious and easy-to-make overnight breakfast casserole that you can prepare the night before and bake in the morning.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread, cubed
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard
  • 1 cup of cooked sausage or bacon, crumbled

Instructions

  1. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the cubed bread and sprinkle the cheese on top.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and mustard.
  3. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and cheese.
  4. Sprinkle the cooked sausage or bacon on top.
  5. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  6. In the morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake the casserole for 45-50 minutes or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition.
  • This casserole can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
