Description

Instant Pot Carne Asada is a flavorful and tender beef dish that is perfect for tacos, burritos, or served with rice.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs flank steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jalapeño, chopped
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat the olive oil.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  3. Season the flank steak with salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder, and oregano.
  4. Add the seasoned steak to the pot and sear on both sides.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and lime juice, then add the chopped jalapeño.
  6. Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to high pressure for 30 minutes.
  7. Once done, allow for natural release for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
  8. Remove the steak, shred it with two forks, and return it to the pot to soak up the juices.
  9. Serve in tacos, burritos, or over rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the steak overnight.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less jalapeño.
  • This dish can be served with various toppings like avocado, cilantro, and salsa.
