- 500g beef strips
- 1 cup rice
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 red chili, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Salt to taste
- Spring onions for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the rice according to package instructions and set aside.
- In a bowl, marinate the beef strips with soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt for 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated beef and fry until crispy and browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add garlic, ginger, and sliced chili, sautéing until fragrant.
- Add vinegar, sugar, and the crispy beef back to the pan, stirring to coat the beef in the sauce.
- Serve the crispy chili beef over the cooked rice and garnish with spring onions.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or fewer chilies.
- For a healthier option, use lean beef cuts.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
