- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, egg, salt, pepper, allspice, and nutmeg. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides.
- Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add flour and stir for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- Add the heavy cream and return the meatballs to the skillet. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
- Serve warm with lingonberry sauce and mashed potatoes.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can use ground turkey instead of beef and pork.
- These meatballs can be frozen for later use.
- Serve with a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
