Description

A delicious and festive breakfast dish combining the flavors of cranberry and orange in a baked French toast.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread, cubed
  • 2 cups of fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup of orange juice
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Zest of 1 orange

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and orange zest.
  3. Add the cubed French bread and cranberries to the egg mixture, stirring to combine.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  6. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter dish, add more sugar or maple syrup.
  • Can be prepared the night before and baked in the morning.
