Description
A simple and comforting sausage and peppers skillet that’s perfect for an easy dinner.
Ingredients
1 lb Italian sausage links (mild or spicy)
2 bell peppers, sliced (use a mix of colors)
1 large onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 cup chicken broth or water
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add sausage links and cook until browned on all sides, about 7-8 minutes. Remove sausage and set aside.
In the same skillet, add sliced peppers and onions. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add garlic, salt, pepper, and oregano; cook 1 minute until fragrant.
Slice the sausage into bite-sized pieces and return to the skillet.
Pour in chicken broth or water, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes to blend flavors.
Serve hot as is or over rice, pasta, or bread.
