- 1 lb white fish (such as cod or haddock)
- 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups milk
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon dill
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 sheets of phyllo dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add flour and stir for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
- Bring to a simmer and add fish, shrimp, dill, parsley, salt, and pepper. Cook until fish is opaque.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Layer phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
- Pour the fish mixture into the phyllo-lined dish.
- Cover with remaining phyllo dough, brushing each layer with butter, and seal the edges.
- Brush the top with beaten egg.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
