  • 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon dill
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add flour and stir for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
  4. Bring to a simmer and add fish, shrimp, dill, parsley, salt, and pepper. Cook until fish is opaque.
  5. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  6. Layer phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  7. Pour the fish mixture into the phyllo-lined dish.
  8. Cover with remaining phyllo dough, brushing each layer with butter, and seal the edges.
  9. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
