Instructions
- Slice the onion into petals, keeping the base intact.
- In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs and buttermilk.
- Dip each onion petal into the egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the onion petals until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
